The Couple
It’s easy to see how magnetic the connection is between Annie + Curt from the moment you meet them. Throughout our time together, the love, respect, and excitement they have for one another was truly palpable. Not only that, but these two know how to have fun. From concerts, to traveling, or just hanging with their precious weenie dog Tootsie, they know how to make even little moments feel like a party. And that’s exactly what we were able to capture during their retro disco aesthetic engagement shoot. When they are together, there are nothing but good times to be had. The Vibe
After their first photoshoot location fell through, Curt discovered the Dazey Desert House on a whim and it ended up being the BEST spot for their vibe and aesthetic. The same talented designers who brought this property to life also helped design the incredible Trixie Motel, a vibrant Palm Springs property I recently recommended in my blog post on the top boutique hotels in Palm Springs for engagement photos (you can check that out here!). This place feels truly magical and has plenty of unique spots to capture different scenes during our session. My favorite detail has to be that vibrant red patterned wall in the living room. Or the dreamy desert vibes of the backyard. Or the moody velvet and gold bedroom. Honestly, it’s hard to choose just one…
Now let’s talk about the best part- their retro disco aesthetic outfits! I love when a couple maximizes their engagement photos by planning for a few outfit changes. It’s no surprise that every single look was vintage inspired perfection, from their more casual “at home” moment, to Annie’s retro lace bridal look, and the ultimate sequin disco bride-to-be dress. Can you tell I’m obsessed yet?
The Future
Annie & Curt are planning to exchange vows next year at the O’Donnell House in Palm Springs and I expect nothing less than elegant retro disco aesthetic amazingness. I don’t see this trend going anywhere anytime soon, and I can’t wait to see what chic disco details make their way into next year’s wedding designs.
