A Series Of Fortunate Events | La Quinta Wedding of Chloe & Peter

If you were already thinking that stepping into Chloe and Peter’s eclectic chic wedding looked like walking into a story book- you seriously have no idea. Colorful, modern, playful, and elegant, this wedding was truly unlike any design aesthetic I had ever seen. And the gorgeous setting and unbelievable design of this La Quinta wedding wasn’t the only thing that made this love story feel like a literary dream. Chloe and her father, American filmmaker Barry Sonnenfeld, directed the show “A Series of Unfortunate Events” based on the extremely popular book series. So naturally, they had to include elements of the story that is so near and dear to their hearts into the event design created by the unparalleled Details, Darling of Southern California. In this blog, I’ll be sharing all the moments from this unbelievably unique event- from the star studded guest list (and officiant!) to all the super cool and thoughtful details. I promise, you’ve never seen a wedding quite like this!

A Series of (Un)Fortunate Events

There’s nothing better than when a couple picks a unique and fun theme for their wedding day, and they absolutely nail it. Paying homage to the story that Chloe and her father helped bring to life on the big screen, she and Peter lovingly dubbed their celebration “A Series of Fortunate Events”, a message that greeted their guests above the custom seating chart filled with rainbow sprinkle fortune cookies as they entered the reception. Proving there’s a chic and thoughtful way to incorporate the things you and your partner love most into your wedding day celebration. This couple’s playful and fun nature radiated throughout every detail of the day, from the vibrant color palette to the modern signage and even the custom menus on each plate exclaiming that the only thing they’re serious about is….food. So relatable.

A Star-Studded Guest List

As faces from everyone’s favorite binge-worthy Netflix shows filled the seats at this La Quinta wedding, I couldn’t help but feel slightly star-struck. Guests like Max Greenfield, Kelly Ripa, Mark Consuelo and Catherine O’Hara attended, but a familiar face also facilitated the I-dos. The couples’ officiant was none other than Patrick Warburton, which made for one hilarious and well-spoken ceremony. But honestly, the real stars of the show were Chloe and Peter. They laughed throughout their entire ceremony and you could feel the excitement between them as they reached for each other’s hands and grinned from ear-to-ear. Their loved ones cheered as Peter dipped Chloe down for their first kiss, and from that moment on, you knew everyone was in for a seriously fun night.

The Design + Color Palette

We can’t talk about this wedding without mentioning the out-of-this world design and color palette. Don’t get me wrong, I love seeing all the new wedding aesthetics and trends that emerge each year. But for their unique La Quinta wedding, Chloe and Peter managed to create an aesthetic all their own. The vibrant and cheerful color palette set the tone for their modern eclectic event design and entertaining guest experience. You never knew shades of bright coral, bold lilac, deep marigold and cheerful pink could come together so beautifully. The modern wedding signage Wild House Ink was show-stopping, from the custom itineraries, to the colorful invitations, welcome signs, escort card display, and bar cart with custom C+P glassware. From the second their guests arrived, they were treated with welcome bags full of custom sweets in their hotel rooms and refreshing popsicles ready to greet them as they entered the ceremony space. At the reception, a blanket of twinkle lights draped over the venue filled with eclectic velvet furniture, sunset-hued flower arrangements, and the adorable sweetheart table with a neon sign glowing over the couple. The team from Details, Darling truly lives up to their name. Every single design element of this day was intentional, thoughtful, and flawlessly executed- just check out the gallery below and you’ll see exactly what I mean!

All in All…

Every moment and detail of this wedding day felt electric and joyous, which was a true reflection of who these two are as a couple. And I think there are some key takeaways here for any couple that is in the midst of planning for their wedding day. Finding ways to make your day feel authentic to who you are as a couple will result in a seriously special celebration for both you and your guests. Have your hilarious friend officiate, serve your favorite late-night snack, add fun commentary to your signage- the possibilities are endless. Tell the story of your love- even if it’s not an actual New York Times bestseller. Yet 😉
