Phil and Archie are complete sweethearts, super laid back and care about the people in their lives the MOST. This made their wedding celebration such a joy to be part of… and made it easy to hang with them until the last hour. Their wedding day was one that reminded me how important it is to surround yourself with a tight circle of friends who care so deeply about you, and to hold on to your family tight. SO MANY EMOTIONAL SPEECHES and that filled my heart.
When Phil and I first started chatting, I wanted to know what made their relationship unique to them. SO many highlights were revealed… like the fact that they’re super easy-going and love a good adventure. After dating for a month, Archie booked them a trip to DisneyWorld and they powered through the rides in pouring rain, laughing the whole time.
And come time to propose… in JAPAN of all places… when Archie’s initial plan for a Cherry Blossom backdrop didn’t go as planned, he kept spirits up with his plan B.
“He ended up proposing in front of the entrance to the Meiji shrine. We had just finished doing the hand washing custom before entering the shrine. All our friends suggested we take a picture in front of the shrine, and one person yelled “Jump” and so I did. When I turned over to Archie, he was on his knees holding out a ring and he asked me to marry him. It was very emotional and was so surprised! I had no idea he was going to propose. My sister had my mom on FaceTime so she got to witness the proposal which was important for me to have my mom witness in some way.”
It’s been a year since these two said their I Do’s (HAPPY ANNIVERSARY)! I love watching their relationship strengthen via Instagram while they continue to adventure through life together. Check out their Joshua Tree adventure engagement photoshoot here 🙂
