2 website malfunctions later, I’m stoked to finally share Suzie and Lauren’s Palm Springs wedding!
Tucked away in the suburbs of Palm Springs is a gorgeous, laid-back estate called The Historic Cree Estate. It’s here where Suzie and Lauren decided to celebrate their love. I honestly can’t get over how many hidden gems there are tucked away in the desert, and these ladies found the perfect spot for a destination weekend celebration with their favorite people. If you remember, Suzie, Lauren and I spent some time together last year in Palm Springs to shoot their engagement. After a few drinks and roaming through the streets of Palm Springs, these girls were on fire. *insert fire emoji here*
When I arrived to capture their wedding, it was like hanging out with close friends. EVERY single person was inviting and ready to have a damn good time in the name of love. I can’t get over how fun their wedding party was — I mean, they were literally down to throw confetti around each other and danced to the tunes on my tiny speaker throughout all the photos. #loveatfirstsight #bestweddingpartyever
Beyond being the MOST FUN wedding party I’ve ever had the pleasure of photographing, they came out in style, successfully pulling gorgeous, brightly colored dresses and dapper suits for the day, to complement the florals and fun party vibe! While we’re on the subject of style, can I just say Lauren and Suzie KILLED it with their wedding day attire?! Lauren’s all-white suit was custom made by Sharpe Suiting and MAN I’m obsessed with it. She complemented her suit with a feather pin + colorful boutonniere. Suzie looked diviiiine in her Hayley Paige wedding gown that she paired with an equally luxe hairstyle and a bouquet of brightly colored proteas + split-leaf palm leaves.
If I could sum up their vibe in a few words, it would be bold, colorful, fun-loving and freaking emotional! Like their bold and bright love, they decided to incorporate the bright pinks, peaches, and golden hued colors of desert flowers to accentuate the luscious venue. Suzie’s sweet sister made the signage found throughout the wedding and absolutely nailed the design.
But the best part of the day was getting to celebrate their LOVE with the equality pins all of their guests wore. #LoveWins
Suzie and Lauren had the entire crowd, including myself, in tears as they read their vows. (Let’s be real, I was wiping tears away throughout the whole day). Suzie shared,
“We decided that writing our own vows and reading them aloud to each other, in front of the community of people who’ve lifted us up from day one, was the most important part of the day. The sense of support and encouragement was nearly palpable and from what I hear (and the photos show) there were abundant tears of joy flowing. One unique aspect to our vows is that we used the opportunity to let our friends and family know that we vow to be there for them and asked them to continue support us throughout our lives. We believe that it truly does take a tribe.”
