We went to Joshua Tree for M+A’s engagement session! Since I’m here so often, it’s exciting to find new pockets to bring out my creativity, but it was also so fun to capture the love in this couple’s collective heart.
HOW THEY MET
Mindy and Andrew, the two stylish sweethearts in the photos below, met because Mindy needed a ride home on the weekends from college in Riverside to her family’s home in Los Angeles. Through friends, Mindy was connected to Andrew, who had already been making the trek to LA each weekend to visit his parents; it turned out they grew up 5 minutes apart from each other! You know what happens in the rest of the story: every weekend they’d take this trip together, and every weekend they’d fall a little bit more for the other. “How we met” stories are probably my favorite. There’s a butterfly effect to everything.There are so many puzzle pieces that need to fit perfectly for a love story to blossom. Had Mindy not had a car, she wouldn’t have needed a ride to visit family back home. Had Andrew not known some of Mindy’s friends, they never would have met. Getting to watch the compassion, love and respect they have in their relationship makes me SO happy they met!
THEIR RELATIONSHIP
Mindy shared a little about what makes them such a strong couple. Respect + support are cornerstones to their relationship. She said, “This mindset helped us to never say anything harsh or hurtful towards each other even during our arguments. We respect each other’s hobbies, time, feelings, decisions, and opinions.” And when they both wanted to pursue careers they were passionate about, Andrew in Real Estate and Mindy in Fashion, they supported each other through doubtful situations, despite those who believed their paths wouldn’t lead to success. Their bond is palpable, calm, heartwarming – a love so easy to capture.
