Have you ever wanted to take wedding portraits somewhere besides where you’re getting married? Well, you can! These two hired me to take their wedding portraits in Joshua Tree to contrast the Santa Barbara wedding they had.
Kalpana and Matt found me through their friends, Suzie and Lauren, who had a surprise engagement session out in Palm Springs this year and whose wedding I’m stoked to photograph next March! K + M were prepared to get married in Santa Barbara, but something pulled them to the desert. I love that they chose to have their cake and eat it, too. They had a beautiful celebration in Santa Barbara, and a few weeks later, we danced around the Joshua Tree desert for some extra special wedding portraits. Kalpana was stoked on this session because she knew that no matter how amazing marriage is, it would be nice to have some care-free, fun photos to look back on when those hard days creep in. Recent events have taught me that you can never have too many photos with the people you love, in all seasons of life, to remember what those times were like and feel an appreciation for the present moment.
