THE PEARL HOTEL WEDDING
When we went to Vasquez Rocks for their engagement session, I knew these two had class, style, and such good hearts. I couldn’t wait to share in their wedding day and now I’m stoked to be sharing it on the blog.
Most San Diego Wedding Photographers have venue bucket lists. Well, The Pearl Hotel wasn’t on mine only because I had no idea it existed! It’s a gem tucked into a normal San Diego neighborhood, just minutes from Sunset Cliffs. Tish and Darren’s wedding was calm yet exciting, like the feeling you get laying by the ocean on a warm summer day, margarita in hand. With keepsake keychains that stated “key to check into a night of good vibes,” tropical florals uplifting the modern space and a ceremony that took place surrounding a pool, this wedding was everything your Hollywood, lounge-vibe party dreams are made of. Their hope from the beginning was to have a laid-back celebration, unlike anything either of their families had experienced before. The way they transformed The Pearl Hotel was incredible and definitely made me a huge fan of the tropical, modern combo. A romantic movie starring Elvis Presley played on the big screen, while their family and friends danced the night away.
THE COUPLE
Let’s talk about Tish and Darren. You could tell Tish and Darren cared so much about every single person sharing in their day, evident by their welcoming and loving spirits. I even felt like I was part of the family, which is always a heart warming feeling. T + D opted to have a first look so we could take all their formal portraits before the party started, which is ALWAYS my favorite thing to do because it allows you guys to be alone for a bit and also get straight to partying after the ceremony! For all those who feel like first looks take the magic away from the walk down the aisle and emotion of a ceremony, let Tish and Darren prove to you that’s not the case at all. When Darren got emotional during the ceremony, there was not a dry eye around that pool! To this day, that’s my favorite photo – Darren crying while saying his vows to his beautiful bride.
