Tish and Darren chose to have their engagement shoot at Vasquez Rocks National Park for its out-of-this-world appeal and their mutual admiration for HBO’s Westworld. The highway drive to this other-worldy place is lined with Joshua Trees, a vast desert and enough time to contemplate dreams with your other half. When you arrive to the gates of the park, it’s odd how separated the rigid rock structures within the park are from the rest of the mountain surrounding it. It truly is it’s own little world!
Tish, Darren and I walked in the dying heat to find the best spots and reach the infamous rock structure that comes out in Star Trek, and about 20 other famous movies or T.V. shows! Through this little journey, it became evident that the foundation of their relationship is so strong. They are kind, considerate and respectful of one another, always making sure the other wasn’t going to fall off a rock I asked them to stand on, and being gentle with each other while also having a fun time doing all the crazy things I asked of them. It was the sweetest thing!
When it was time to climb up a steep rock to reach an epic sunset, we realized Tish only had heels to do so, and Darren patiently helped her up along the way. In these little moments, you can truly see the intricacies of a beautiful relationship. Calmly facing challenging situations with each other, no matter how small or large, shows the true colors of the foundation you’re building with one another. These are the moments that get to me and make me so grateful to capture a piece of your relationship! I’m thrilled to be heading to The Pearl Hotel for their intimate wedding next month. It’s gonna be a good one 😉
