Amy and Andrew are those dreamy, down-to-earth people who just want to have a good time and enjoy life. Hiking and exploring are their favorite pastimes, which makes their proposal story that much sweeter. Andrew spontaneously planned out a weekend trip to Yosemite for him and Amy, a place she’d been wanting to visit for a while. After hiking 4 miles to Glacier Point (not knowing there was also a way to drive up the mountain), Andrew chose a private area overlooking the vast valley and epic mountain scenery, dropped to one knee, and the rest is history. In just a short month and a half, these two passionate, caring, adventurous people will be married at Lake Oak Meadows in Temecula Wine Country, right before Andrew leaves for basic training with the Navy.
Both Amy and Andrew work at the Naval base off the coast of San Diego, getting to be in and out of the ocean most days, so Sunset Cliffs was the perfect backdrop for a fun engagement session with these two. While hiking the cliffs down to my favorite beach spot, we realized the tide was too high to reach the private area. Instead of stressing about it, Amy and Andrew found another way to get down to the beach about a half mile down, which required rappelling a rope down the cliff. Neither of them batted an eye with the task at hand, which is why I freaking adore both of them. Super down for anything and willing to rappel a cliff, jump in the water to cool off and chase each other through the cliffside all for the sake of fun. Cheers to these two.
