If you ever ask me to drive somewhere remote and gorgeous to capture your sweet, intimate celebration, the answer is always going to be YES! Like the time Kimiko and Kai asked me to go to Portland, OR with them, my heart skipped a beat when Andrea asked me to head to Big Sur with her and Andrew for their elopement. For those who don’t know, you can still visit Big Sur through back-roads, despite the tragic landslides from the past year. It was a quiet morning, the two of them sharing a cabin on the hillside patiently awaiting the moment they would be married.
What struck me about Andrea and Andrew’s relationship was how much respect they have for each other. When I asked how they would describe their relationship in a few words, they mentioned respect, love, patience, & trust. You could say these are cliché, but I’m a firm believer that cliché’s are so for good reason. Andrew shared, “A relationship begins and ends with respect. No matter how much patience, love or trust you have, if you don’t have mutual respect for each other it’s hard to have a solid foundation. Love always makes the heart grow founder. Patience and trust allows us to build on our beautiful foundation together.” I couldn’t agree more with their sentiments.
